PROCLAMATION

HUGH CLIFFORD, M.C.S.,

Governor and Commander-in-Chief.

WHEREAS by section 4 of Ordinance No. 136 (Arms and Explo- sives), it is enacted that the Governor in Council may prohibit by Proclamation for a period in such Proclamation to be mentioned. the exportation from the Colony either absolutely or to any country, territory or place without the Colony in such Proclamation to be specified of arms, guns, explosives or any specified class of explosives, aircraft, armoured cars, tanks, naval, military or air force stores or any war material whatsoever or articles which in the opinion of the Governor in Council are capable of being converted into or of being made useful for manufacturing any of the said articles.

AND WHEREAS a Proclamation dated 16th day of April, 1925, and published in the Gazette Extraordinary of the 17th April, 1925, pro- hibiting the exportation of certain articles therein referred to from the Colony to certain destinations for a period of 3 years from the 17th day of April, 1925, was made and issued under section 4 of Ordinance No. 136 (Arms and Explosives).

Now it is hereby proclaimed by the Governor in Council in virtue and exercise of the powers aforesaid as follows:-

For a period of three years from the 17th day of April, 1928, no person, company corporation or partnership shall, either on his or its own behalf or on behalf of

any other person, company, corporation or partnership of whatever nationality, export to China or any Concession, Settlement, or Leased Territory in China any of the following articles: -

(1) Arms, guns or explosives of any description exclusive

of sporting weapons and ammunition therefor;

(2) Aeroplane engines and their component parts;
